“The portal of healing and creativity always takes us into the realm of the spirit."
Angeles Arrien

AJL is named after designer Anna's daughter, Ava Jewel Leilani which means child from the heavens.

Anna has always enjoyed creating in some form or another but it wasn’t until she had her daughter that took her passion for creating to a whole new level.  Anna is a self-taught artist who launched her labor of love,  My Leilani Designs, in 2010, so that she could support the WSA and spread awareness of Williams Syndrome.  Ever since she found out her daughter had a rare genetic condition called Williams Syndrome she wanted a way to wear and spread awareness of this rare condition and started to work on her design concept of genetic jewelry.  With her genetic jewelry line she was able to donate 15% of her profits to the Williams Syndrome Association.

Anna had to take a break from jewelry making as her daughter’s health started to decline, Anna wanted to cherish every moment and enjoy life to the fullest with her daughter Ava Jewel.  Anna's daughter Ava Jewel lost her battle with heart disease and passed over in 2015 at home in the comfort of her mother's arms.

One of the things that Anna has found to be most healing has been creating again.  Her daughters strength and courage with all she has gone through so bravely has provided a motivation for Anna.
AJL was created in honor of Ava Jewel, with the hope to let others know they are not alone and that we can be brave together.

Shine On Beautiful!
